Posted July 28, 2006. XR650R uncorked ~45HP. XR650L uncorked ~36HP. CRF450X uncorked~45HP. The difference is in the power curve. The XR's make ALOT more torque and HP on the low end and max out on revs at around 8000RPM, peak HP on an XR is made at around 5-6000RPM.Honestly when it comes to best dual sport, you kind of have to judge based on what flaws you're okay with. It could be argued that the dr650 is the best dual sport cause they're bulletproof. It could also be argued that the 690/701 is the best dual sport cause of the power/weight. ….
