Uchigatana is a Katana and one of the available Weapons in Dark Souls 2. Uchigatana can be bought from Steady Hand McDuff for 5000 souls after getting the Dull Ember, limited to one per playthrough. The Uchigatana is very light and has low requirements, buffed you can defend yourself in melee pretty well without having to put many points in dex/strength.The uchigatana is still a perfectly good weapon though, and you'll probably not find anything strictly 'better'. No reason to switch weapons, unless you're just getting bored of katanas in general. On a Quality Build go for the regular upgrade path (+5 ---> +10 ---> +15). So take your Uchigatana +5 and upgrade it to +10 and then to +15. Fair enough. Thanks the the tip.
