You need to clamp the barrel as close to the device as possible or use a barrel extention bar that locks the lugs. Share.The first two MCX gens take a special MCX trigger to work right the 3rd GEN the Spear will work with any AR trigger, you can put a Geissele in a spear but you can't in a rattler or a Virtus they have to have the the Sig MCX Duo or I thing Geissele does mak an MCX specific trigger for gen 1 and 2 MCXs now.

Both of my MCX Virtus rifles are on regular AR lowers. I had a couple spare lowers that were already on Form 1s so it was easier/cheaper/faster to just buy the Virtus upper kits to build SBRs. My big question to you all is it worth it to pony up the extra $$ and get the new VIRTUS or grab one of the Gen 1 MCX's while they are cheap. From what I can tell the big differences are in the upper and gas system length.
