The G30SF frame assembly Slide Stop Lever is designed to work with a Slide that is 1.12 inches wide and that does not properly engage the 1.00-inch wide G36 Slide. The G36 SSL does not fit the G30SF frame. It took until 2013 for Glock to make the 30793 SSL that fits a G30SF frame and properly engages a 1.00-inch Slide. Comparing the 30S to other variants of the G30 (like, say, the G30sf), it might seem that the thinner slide is just a gimmick: losing about 3.5 ounces and 1/8 inch off the slide may not seem significant on paper.
