I was 1cm at 28, 2 cm at my next appointment then from there I don't remember when I hit 3 cm but it was with in 1 to 2 appointments so 34 to 36 weeks, somewhere in there. Any sort of dilation or lack there of prior to active labor means nothing. You can be 3cm and 80% effaced and not have baby for weeks while someone else can be 0 across the board and have baby in a few hours. This is why is slowly becoming the norm to no longer so cervical checks prior to labor. Just stresses out mom.

This won't make you feel better but at 38 weeks I was low, 75% effaced and 1cm dilated. I ended up going 10 days overdue. :p Everything can change or nothing can change in 2 weeks.
