Basically, for every 0.5" of travel between the lower control arm to the bumpstop equates to 1" of upward travel at the wheel.If you go to 35's you'll need to regear otherwise you will cook the tranny. With 4.88's, on the freeway at 70 mph the best I get is just 15 mpg. ... There are no aftermarket 4.30 gears for the early year 1st gen Tundra, but we can use the Tacoma 4.30's which are insanely priced at the dealer so finding a used set is usually the way to go on those.It was 90% the gears and 10% maintenance. Things like spark plugs, injectors, etc go a good ways to getting good mileage. But when I went to 5.29 gears it got a lot better. Will always love the first gen sequoia as I grew up in and learned how to drive in a first gen tundra!
